Question Of The Day????

You are driving on a lonely bridge late at night, let's say around 11pm, and you see two little children - say 5 and 2, on the side of the bridge just sitting there crying...would you stop your car to pick them up or just continue driving? Why would you pick them up? And why wouldn't you?

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Nature’s Lessons

I woke up with a start. I groaned as I realized NEPA had done exactly what they do best… Slicks of sweat  were already running down my body. I reached for my phone… It was exactly 5am. I got up to open the  windows, then I turned over and shut my eyes tight; willing myself to sleep. But it wouldn’t come. Great, I thought. Just when I need all the sleep I can get. Just as I was still cursing NEPA for interrupting my sleep; the musky smell of dust and moisture filled my nostrils. Enjoying it, I anticipated the rain I knew would soon hit fast. The gentle breeze hitting me was welcoming and relaxing. All previous thoughts of sleep eluded me as I prepared to make the best of the early-morning rain.  There’s nothing like it, I thought.  The beauty of the whole package; the smell of damp earth, the cool breeze, the raindrops making music – sheer beauty of nature. Then, I heard the pitter-patter of the first raindrops hitting the soil outside. Here goes… For thirty minutes I lay awake just enjoying the rain. It helped soothe my troubled thoughts. The rain is proof that all my problems can be washed away. No matter what I’m going through, the simplest things of life are there to give me hope and remind me that I should be thankful and also appreciate the free gifts of life. As I was still putting my thoughts in perspective, I noticed that day was starting to break. The minuscule rays of sunshine were making colorful bursts in the sky. A cock crowed nearby. God, I sighed.
What can be more beautiful than the morning? I knew He was talking to me; trying to send me a clear message. Where there is life, there is hope. The simplicity of nature shows that there is a God out there who is bigger than all my problems.

Oral Hygiene

Why Bother So Much About My Oral Hygiene?
Why? you may wonder. Well, for one there is that latent potential for indescribably excruciating pain. Pain so severe it makes grown men cry. Pain only comparable to that of childbirth. I’ve had mothers come into the clinic after classic episodes of toothache and claim that childbirth probably wasn't as painful after the first. You may be lucky to never have experienced this before, good for you. The problem is it’s never too late for the dental problems that can cause this genre of pain to develop. All you have to do in many cases is slip up on your oral hygiene while certain factors are present in your mouth for long enough.

Toothache, I can almost hear some folks say, is easy to deal with. Just visit a dentist when you have pain and he’ll sort you out and you’ll be fine afterwards. Sadly, it doesn't always end there. Dental issues may in fact not cause any serious oral pain but still cause even more severe general health problems. Studies have shown that poor oral hygiene has been linked to severe cardiac conditions, complications of diabetes and even low birth weight while in pregnant women. So your oral health does play a vital role in the general well being of the body.

The Orange Show

I started a vlog series as well, I hope y'all enjoy

Question Of The Day???

I have been watching Mentalist recently, *stale I know* and one episode he asked the teenagers, what animal would they like to be? And then it got me thinking if I could come back as an animal or change what would it be and I realized I'd want to be a leopard, kinda creepy, weird I know but what would you like to be, and most importantly why?

Noise Pollution

So this morning I tried to sleep, because I enjoy sleeping in the mornings before doing whatever it helps me relax and prepared for the day, for at least an hour tops.
Unfortunately for me there's the lawnmower so my sleep was cut short and now I'm kinda cranky, anyways hope y'all had a good night rest and you are pumped for the day?
Have fun today and please don't forget to smile.
Peace. Love & Cupcakes...

Bad Celeb Breakup Etiquette

Breaking up is hard to do. That's probably why some people, including celebs, try to make it a little easier (at least on themselves).
In an effort to avoid the back-and-forth, the pleading, the crying, the fighting, etc., certain stars opted to ditch the old-fashioned method of confrontation and resorted to other platforms to get the news across—thereby earning themselves a spot on our list of five of the worst breakup-etiquette offenders.
Here they are:
Katy Perry, Russell BrandJordan Strauss/WireImage.com
1. Katy Perry & Russell Brand: The pop star recently revealed how she learned ofher impending divorce from the British comedian—and it wasn't during a face-to-face conversation.
"He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry said during an interview with Vogue. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
Ouch!

Taylor Swift Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic
2. Taylor Swift & Joe Jonas: Splitting up over the telephone isn't really the way to go, either. Especially when the entire call lasts less than 30 seconds.
In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor said the kamikaze breakup call from her Jonas Bro beau "was, like, a record, I think, for how quick. I looked at the call log—it was like 27 seconds."
Jonas is quite the fast, if not smooth, talker.
Kordell Stewart, Porsha StewartPARAS GRIFFIN/Landov
3. Porsha & Kordell Stewart: The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was just keeping up with her social-media updates when she happened upon some bad news—about her own marriage.
"I literally was lying in bed and I looked at Twitter and it was going crazy," Porsha told ABC News. "I saw on Twitter that my husband has filed for divorce."
The Bravo star then turned to her husband, who was down the hall in their Atlanta mansion when she saw the split reports.
"It wasn't a confrontation," she explained. "It was me just simply asking my husband, 'Had you filed?' He said he thought about it and we'll talk about it later and he left for work. I had to call my attorney to find out."
Minnie Driver, Matt DamonSteve Granitz/WireImage
4. Minnie Driver & Matt Damon: This couple's breakup in 1998 was very public (although think of how even more public it would be today), and the actress found out about it at the same time as all of America, when Damon denied he had a girlfriend while appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
"It's unfortunate that Matt went on Oprah," Driver told the Los Angeles Times. "It seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate."
Damon had no comment on the matter. He apparently said everything he needed to say on Oprah, as people tended to do.
Daniel Day Lewis, Isabelle AdjaniJeff Vespa/WireImage; Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
5. Daniel Day Lewis & Isabelle Adjani:Although many reports claim the Hollywood couple's relationship ended after the Lincolnstar broke up with Adjani via fax (yes, a fax), the actress explained during an interview with London's Mail on Sunday in 1996 that the split went down differently. But differently doesnt necessarily mean better.
"I told him I was pregnant before he went in—not by fax as has been mistakenly reported," Adjani said. "My love for him did not waiver but I guess he did not feel the same.
"We never saw each other again. He never told me it was over. I wish he had because I like clarity.

Age ain't nothing but a number?

It has come to our notice that these days people get into relationships or even marriages with younger men. I want to try and understand the reason why I should marry someone a a lot younger than me considering the fact that women mature faster than men and then after giving birth.
I have no grudges against women who are cougars though. On a scale of 1 to 10 what is your age range?
And oh by the way the CEO of Tiannah styling just got engaged to her 21 year old lover and she is 31 hmmm

Watchu Think?

That is your past and there's no future in it. By Tyler Perry

We have some golf carts at the studio. We use them to run around the campus, getting actors from here to there and so on. But the thing that bothers me the most about them is that when you put them into reverse a beeping alarm goes off. And it doesn’t stop until you go forward. It is so annoying to be in the middle of a shot, when I need it very quiet, to hear that beeping noise. I wanted the facilities guys to disconnect the reverse alarm but I was told that they couldn’t because it is a safety measure. The alarm is there to let people know that you’re about to go backwards. I walked back to my office thinking about this and this thought popped into my head: wouldn’t it be great if we as humans had an annoying alarm that made a loud continuous beep when we are about to go into reverse? When we’re about to look back, like when you’re about to pick up that phone and call an ex that you know is no good for you, wouldn’t it be great if that alarm went on and stayed on until you hung up the phone? Wouldn’t it be great for all the people around you to hear that alarm so that they know you are about to go backwards and bring up some old crap? I think husbands and boyfriends would love that… LOL.
But seriously, there are a lot of people who are living their lives stuck in reverse, alarms going off, beeps beeping very loudly, but they can’t get it out of reverse. You know these kinds of people, the ones that nobody wants to be around because they can be so annoying, always dwelling on the past. Full of “I wish I had done this” or “I wish I could have done that”. These kinds of people are sad to me, not focusing on the beauty of today, they’d rather dig through the ashes of yesterday. Listen to me, you can’t change anything that you have done in your past, all you can do is go forward. No matter how many mistakes you have made, no matter how many things you have done wrong, you have got to move forward. That is your past and there is no future in it.
And the only way to move forward is to ask for forgiveness from the people who you have hurt and wronged. Whether they forgive you or not you must ask… sorry that’s just the way it is. If you don’t you will continue to reap bad things from what you have done to them, even if they don’t forgive you. You will have the power to be free because you asked for forgiveness. And secondly, you must forgive yourself. Forgiveness is the key that can move your life forward… and turn off the reverse alarm.

STYLE

Get your Wardrobe Super Stylish in 6 Easy Steps

By Jennifer Obiuwevbi
How to build a Stylish Wardobe - BellaNaija - June2013Every now and then we come across people whose style we love. From Eku Edewor to DJ Caise, we cant help but gush at how well put together and stylish they always look. However, even though these people always come out looking so good, we must remember they might have a little elf a.k.a a stylist who works hard pulling their looks together. A luxury not everyone can afford.
So how do the normal people get to look so stylish even without the help of a stylist? Intuition, the passion for fashion and style and learning & understanding these simple rules. Today on BN Stylewe are going to be dishing out a couple of tips we believe can help you be well on your way to having a stylish wardrobe. So sit back, grab a pen and start planning your future glam closet.
Research
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013001
Nothing works out without doing your background work first. Get those magazines you drool over, open the BN Style page, tune in to E! Television. Check for the designs you have always wished you’d had and save them up. A lot of times, when we see an item we love we get turned down by the prices. This is not one of those times. Ignore the price tag for now, we aren’t spending yet; we are just collecting the right information for the task at hand. After step 2, then we can think of spending.
Save Up for It
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013002
Instead of moping around because you cant afford an item, work towards it. This is not to say you should spend all your money on the dress, only buy it if you can COMFORTABLY afford it. For two months put a sizeable amount away in a savings account or somewhere you know is safe. The time will pass away faster then you think and you can finally buy that dress.
A good alternative to buying an item you have seen in a magazine, is to buy one that looks exactly like it. That will save you more money and it will still look a lot like the dress. Remember the sexy red & black dress by Liam Fashion Agency Toolz wore? Well I have seen other variations of that same dress that isn’t by the same designer. So it is possible.
Sort Through what you Already have
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013003
Don’t just throw away your old clothes in the name of a wardrobe make over. You might still have some rare gems in there. Check out the trends you like, and then go through your wardrobe to see what items can still be transformed into outfits that fit the trends. keep in mind that trends go and they come, so be very liberal with your selection process. Pieces like white tops, faux leather, a Little Black Dress (LBD), any animal print, Aztec deigns etc never go out of trend. They are simply redefined.
List the Key Items your Wardrobe Lacks
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013004
There are some items that are classics in the world of fashion. For women I listed a couple in the preceding tip like the LBD, Aztec prints and white tops, for men blazers, pocket squares, slim ties, at least a pair of nice snickers etc should always be in your closet. Select items for their colours, prints, textures, wear-ability and style.
Also, always have items that can keep you warm or cold in different weathers. Sweaters, sheer tops are a must and will always be handy.
Buy as many Items as you can (Within your budget)
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013005
To move along faster, you should buy as much as your budget can carry. Plan out how much you have, figure out the price range for the items you would like to purchase and allocate money for them. This way you would see results a lot faster but still have enough money for other things.
Also remember there are some nice vintage stores that have great pieces you can buy. I once found a pretty Dorothy Perkins bag for N2,500 at a shop in Gbagada. Don’t ask how that happened, just know that it is possible.
Lastly, Update Yourself
How to Get a Stylish Wardrobe - Bellanaija - June2013006
Fashion has never been known to stand still. After you have completed your dream wardrobe, remember to keep refreshing BellaNaija and all your favourite magazines and blogs on what is hot in fashion and style. This way you are never out of the loop.
Remember that true style comes from within and sometimes we have to make sacrifices to look good. Fashion gives us the tools, style is what we build. No matter how many trends come out, be sure to always remain true to yourself. Have any style advice that others can benefit from? Don’t forget to share.
And… voila!
