Bad Celeb Breakup Etiquette

Breaking up is hard to do. That's probably why some people, including celebs, try to make it a little easier (at least on themselves).
In an effort to avoid the back-and-forth, the pleading, the crying, the fighting, etc., certain stars opted to ditch the old-fashioned method of confrontation and resorted to other platforms to get the news across—thereby earning themselves a spot on our list of five of the worst breakup-etiquette offenders.
Here they are:

1. Katy Perry & Russell Brand: The pop star recently revealed how she learned ofher impending divorce from the British comedian—and it wasn't during a face-to-face conversation.
"He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry said during an interview with Vogue. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
Ouch!

2. Taylor Swift & Joe Jonas: Splitting up over the telephone isn't really the way to go, either. Especially when the entire call lasts less than 30 seconds.
In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor said the kamikaze breakup call from her Jonas Bro beau "was, like, a record, I think, for how quick. I looked at the call log—it was like 27 seconds."
Jonas is quite the fast, if not smooth, talker.

3. Porsha & Kordell Stewart: The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was just keeping up with her social-media updates when she happened upon some bad news—about her own marriage.
"I literally was lying in bed and I looked at Twitter and it was going crazy," Porsha told ABC News. "I saw on Twitter that my husband has filed for divorce."
The Bravo star then turned to her husband, who was down the hall in their Atlanta mansion when she saw the split reports.
"It wasn't a confrontation," she explained. "It was me just simply asking my husband, 'Had you filed?' He said he thought about it and we'll talk about it later and he left for work. I had to call my attorney to find out."

4. Minnie Driver & Matt Damon: This couple's breakup in 1998 was very public (although think of how even more public it would be today), and the actress found out about it at the same time as all of America, when Damon denied he had a girlfriend while appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
"It's unfortunate that Matt went on Oprah," Driver told the Los Angeles Times. "It seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate."
Damon had no comment on the matter. He apparently said everything he needed to say on Oprah, as people tended to do.

5. Daniel Day Lewis & Isabelle Adjani:Although many reports claim the Hollywood couple's relationship ended after the Lincolnstar broke up with Adjani via fax (yes, a fax), the actress explained during an interview with London's Mail on Sunday in 1996 that the split went down differently. But differently doesnt necessarily mean better.
"I told him I was pregnant before he went in—not by fax as has been mistakenly reported," Adjani said. "My love for him did not waiver but I guess he did not feel the same.
"We never saw each other again. He never told me it was over. I wish he had because I like clarity.
